Shopping at the local barrio/grocery store last night, the kids and I discovered a new fruit. It's called a horned (horny?) melon and supposedly it comes from New Zealand. It cost five bucks, which seems a little steep, but discovery often comes with a price tag.We cut it open after dinner and everyone gave it a lick. What it tastes like is a cross between a very unripe banana and a sour cucumber. What it looks like on the inside is... well, you can see for yourself. So unless you're buying one for decorative purposes, you might want to give it a pass if you come across one. Then again, maybe you'll love it.

MMMMMMMMM looks tasty.
Maybe next time you can get that stinky fruit from Indonesia, what's it called?
Tried one once. Won't do it again. Blech.
