Behold, my first pair of gloves. When I cast on for this project, I set out to follow Susan's Horcrux Sock pattern (see below). But after knitting the ribbed cuff and about an inch of the lace pattern, I realized that what I really needed was gloves. So I pulled out Ann Budd's Handy Book of Patterns and crossed my fingers, hoping that the number of stitches cast on would match the template for my handsize. I continued in the lace pattern while working a thumb and then up the palm, stopping when I got to the fingers. I considered working one zigzag on up the index or middle finger, just for dramatic effect, but at that point I didn't want to fiddle with it anymore and simply finished the fingers.Last night after the sock class she's been teaching at an Elle Why Ess, Susan kindly photographed my hands fondling more Cascade 220 in the gloves.
Hey Susan? I've learned a lot from you. Thanks.

They're so striking! Gorgeous.
Just love your day by day, blow by blow;-)
The gloves are rad.
Fabulous interpretation of the Horcrux pattern. Have you written up the design??
You really have such great vision with your knitting. Good taste too. The gloves are awesome, of course.
What a good idea, they look great!
Those gloves are just so lovely. You are such a clever knitter!
Great gloves, I'm with Susan, it's a great design, have you written it up?
You are just one awesome knitter! I think I will have to try this, as I like the gloves even better than the socks... are you using the worsted or fingering version?
