"Baking, From my Home to Yours"

This meme seems to be the most recent one I've seen popping up, and I've enjoyed the tidbits it reveals (or obscures) about the people who post it.

The Page 123 Meme
1. Grab the book closest to you.
2. Open to page 123, look down to the 5th sentence.
3. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog.
4. Include the title and the author's name.

"Cookies like these are not difficult to make, but several take a bit more TLC than bar or cookie jar cookies. Save them for an afternoon when you are looking forward to fussing a bit, when you've got the time to mold, roll or even fry dough--as you will with Mrs. Vogel's Scherben. You can also save them for a time when you want to show off."

Baking, From my Home to Yours, by Dorie Greenspan

I will finally admit it: I am totally nesting. The UFO-off is the least of it: I made a banana-coconut cake from the above cookbook last night after dinner (this book has REALLY good recipes). For dinner, I roasted a whole organic chicken (something I rarely do)-- and oooh, this bird tasted good. I'm rearranging furniture and throwing things out, and I'm getting ready to paint the kitchen (okay, that's less nesting and more necessity if we're ever going to put our house on the market). When I'm not cleaning or knitting, I'm baking and cooking some more. It can't just be the weather.

Are there any cookies left over??
Just last night, Hannah was watching the food network and Bobbie Flay was making donuts. She said, "Oooh, remember when Katherine brought over those yummy donuts."
I told her to call you and beg for more but she just sneered.

I've tried to leave a comment three times. I give up.

OMG--maybe the third time's a charm.

I did this meme, too--you could see it if you ever visited my blog--hint, hint.
