We went to Denver over spring break. We stayed with Neph's grandparents in Littleton. Late one night, we were dragging around downtown Denver, looking for someplace to eat dinner, someplace with great food as well as a high tolerance for boisterous children. We found that place in a little Japanese restaurant run by an old couple who doted on the children in between zealously serving amazing food to a wildly diverse set of people (from a guy who appeared to be homeless to a dude in Gucci and Prada and everyone in between, including us).
On the way home to Utah, we stopped in Fruita, Colorado for gas and encountered a collegiate cycling race, so we got out and watched for 45 minutes. The red-headed children got lots of rubs on the head for luck from riders, but we didn't stay long enough to see if it worked out for any of them.I didn't go to a single yarn shop the whole time. I still can't believe it, but I suppose it's proof of the sacrifices parents make for their children in the thick of life.

I find that 'red head-head rub' always so interesting. I have 3 redheads and 1 brown (same red as yours that dark brown/red hair that make you cringe when you hear other people calling their kids redheads when all they are are weak slightly pink) When my first red head son was just a small baby a group of people from Pakistan came up to us in the mall and nearly worshiped him. One explained that in their religion and culture hair color like that was the luckiest thing in the world and the chance to just touch it could change their lives forever. Now that I have 3 red heads we don't get as many looks and people asking us where they get it (we are both dark brown haired parents) but I feel bad for the oldest brown haired gal. She still gets forgotten about quite often in family discussions with people, even people we've known for 8 years!
Well, lucky you! You get to rub their heads every day. Too bad it didn't keep you from getting RSV, but I'm glad to hear you're all better now.
Great pictures!
Redheads are very scarce outside Utah! I bet you draw more attention when you travel.
I completely lurve W's red mohawk! It is so adorable - but don't tell him I said so - tell him it's so cool dude!
I'm glad you are feeling better! RSV? Yuck! Yarn shops and children are a tricky combination. Good job being so patient. Fortunately for me WC is pretty kid-friendly.
So glad to hear you are recovered from RSV... did any of the kids get it? It sounds like taking a vacation was part of a well-planned recovery.
