Five Months Yesterday.

I finished the Endless Baby Blanket a week and a half ago. This is the blanket that I started knitting when I was four months pregnant with the guy who is now almost two years old. It's a slightly modified version of the Big Bad Baby Blanket in Stitch'n'Bitch. I thought that the pattern was a little small, so I cast on more stitches and made a bigger seed stitch border. I was dumb. But it's done now! And Senor Poopypants loves it so much. I used a big size 9 circular needle and 6 or 8 skeins of doubled Cascade 220 in a color that I adored when I began (now, maybe I'll like it again after not having it hang over my head). There are also a matching hat and bootie set to go with it, but the kid grew out of them a long time ago. Now on to a blankie for the next one!

By the way, my longish absence from the blog is due being deathly ill for most of last week. On Tuesday, I was so sick that I had to call the mister to ask him to come home and telecommute so that I could stay in bed. I hurt so bad I was crying, and baby, I just don't cry. He came right home. A day or two later, I was feeling like a walking miracle. Getting over illness can do that to you.

Above is the Noro Silk Garden that I have frogged about eight or ten times now. Inspired by Kay over at Mason-Dixon Knitting, I knit Argosy several times, but I could never make it look the way I wanted. I do need an actual handknit scarf (I've given every one I've made away), and I took that entrelac class at Black Sheep back in the fall, so I decided to try that (I've been meaning to knit an entrelac neckwarmer since I saw this one here last winter). When the new Interweave arrived the next day with a tutorial on entrelac, how could I not take it as a sign. But now you see where I am, and I just don't know if I'm loving it. It seems a little wide for a neck warmer, besides. I'm imposing a cooling off period before I frog it again, and in the meantime, I finished some UFO mittens (my first!) this evening for Dinosaur Girl (who now is probably more likely to respond to Unicorn Princess). Also, I'm meandering through Susan's worsted-weight Socks-In-Seriatim on size 5 double points. It makes for easy, satisfying knitting.

Sorry to hear you were sick. Misery loves company. I have managed to do something really bad to my back. I haven't moved out of the house for two days.

Crap, what happened to my first attempt?! Sorry you got that crud too; I remember the feeling that I would never stop aching. How's the pregnancy going? Love the colors in your entrelac.
